Marvell Foods’ various government approvals, listed below, provides Marvell Foods and its strategic partners with exceptional price and contract incentives to supply food (and other) products to the Federal Government. Below is a list of our certifications and the incentives associated with each of our certifications.

The System for Award Management (SAM) is an official website of the U.S. government. SAM allows Government agencies and contractors to search for your company based on your ability, size, location, experience, ownership, and more. SAM allows users to search for firms certified by the SBA under the 8(a) Development and Hubzone Programs.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is a United States government agency that provides support to entrepreneurs and small businesses. SBA helps lead the federal government’s efforts to deliver 23 percent of prime federal contracts to small businesses. Small business contracting programs include efforts to ensure that certain federal contracts reach woman-owned and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses as well as businesses participating in programs such as the 8(a) Business Development Program and HUBZone.

Marvell Foods is a member of the nation’s leading trade organization dedicated to the myriad and challenging needs of America’s state and federal prison systems — Association of Correctional Food Service Affiliates (ACSFA). Formed in 1969, the ACFSA’s work is devoted to enhancing, representing, and promoting the “correctional segment” of the food service industry. Association members are food service professionals employed in correctional facilities and agencies within federal, state, and municipal prison/jail systems. The ACFSA’s mission is to develop and promote educational programs and networking activities to improve professionalism and provide an opportunity for broadening knowledge.

The government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses in historically underutilized business zones. It also gives preferential consideration to those businesses in full and open competition. The HUBZone program fuels small business growth in historically underutilized business zones with a goal of awarding at least three percent of federal contract dollars to HUBZone-certified companies each year. As a Certified HUBZONE company, Marvell Foods is eligible to compete for the programs set-aside contracts. HUBZone-certified businesses also get a 10 percent price evaluation preference in full and open contract competitions.

Since August 2020, Marvell Foods has been a subcontractor/supplier/distributor providing assorted protein products on behalf of Manufacturers and Distributors who participated in the Farmers to Families Food Box Program. Marvell Foods supplied/brokered/delivered tens of millions of pounds of proteins and other food products to USDA/BOA Awardees, who in turn helped feed millions of Americans and their families, including food banks, across the country.

The federal government’s goal is to award at least five percent of all federal contracting dollars to women-owned small businesses each year. To help provide a level playing field for women business owners, the government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses that participate in the WOSB Federal Contracting Program. Marvell Foods, as a certified member of the WOSB Federal Contracting Program makes Marvell Foods eligible to compete for federal contracts set aside for the program.
